Gaming machines from Aristocrat Leisure appeal to both the idle rich and not-so-rich. The company ranks as the world's #2 manufacturer of slot machines (after International Game Technology ), supplying clubs, hotels, casinos, and bars in nearly 60 countries with casino games and gaming systems. Aristocrat also makes and sells accessories, such as LCD signs, used by casinos.

The company acquired Las Vegas-based casino information systems maker Casino Data Systems (now Aristocrat Technologies ) in 2001. The family of founder Leonard Ainsworth owns about 40% of Aristocrat through a variety of trusts.

1953: The "Clubman,"Aristocrat's first gaming machine was manufactured in Rosebery

1955: The 'Clubmaster' was developed to succeed the Clubman.

1960: European office was opened

1961: 'Aristocrat Nevada' was launched in 1961

1964: Aristocrat launched its first machine in Nevada, through an agent named Rob Timm

1965: Aristocrat's first overseas office was established in Reno, Nevada.

1981: Aristocrat began to export machines and became the dominant player in the Australian market

1987: The first Aristocrat spinning reel video machines (MK II's) were installed at Maroubra RSL Club

1994: First Aristocrat machines in Victoria, Australia were installed.

1996: Aristocrat became a public company, traded on the Australian Stock Exchange

2000: Aristocrat granted licences in Nevada, USA and Japan; US Head Office shifted to Las Vegas

2001: Arisocrat acquired Las Vegas-based Casino Data Systems

2008: Systems had another record year, with its revenues growing by 35.9%.
